Why now? Why this? So much of what I read about babies and mama-life is written for first time mamas. No wonder. No second time mom has time or patience to write, let alone read, baby books. “What to Expect in the First Year” isn’t helpful when you’re repeating it. That first time around, you can re-read every chapter to be sure you don’t miss any developmental milestone. Did she raise her head 90 degrees? Did she really turn to the sound she heard? The second time around, you’re just trying to get the right diaper on the right kid at the right time. Subarctic Mama will have advice, reviews, and commentary for outnumbered Alaskan moms.
